What may be needed for protecting our installation?

For this type of installations there are two types of schemes: an installation using a shared meter between the charging point and the home (scheme 2 ITC-BT-52) or an installation using a dedicated meter for the charging point (scheme 1 ITC-BT-52 ). The usual power for this type of installation is 7.3 kW (32 A).

In installations where scheme 2 of the ITC-BT-52 is implemented, compliance with infinite impedance will be required in order to allow the reset of the digital meter if it has previously cut off the overcurrent (produced by the loads of the home or the charging point). The EV-CHECK REC protector is the solution for this need and also provides protection against transient overvoltages, as well as permanent overvoltages through self-reset.

In installations with a dedicated scheme and the meter is specific for the charging point, the ideal protector is the EV-CHECK ONE.

The complete protection solution for each application may require an LPS (Lightning Protection System). Our software is free and allows you to do the risk analysis and solve the geometric project with your bill of materials.
